Revving up for CHAS!
An
ambitious charitable motorcycle ride covering the length and
breadth of Scotland in just 4 days will take place this month to
raise much needed funds for The Children’s Hospice Association
Scotland (CHAS).
The charity run will see a team of five revving up and
travelling over 1000 miles to Dunnet Head, Buchan Ness, Mull of
Galloway and Ardnamurchan Point, with only four days to complete
the gruelling journey. Mandy Gunn, from Perth based company
Sidey, who have kick started the fundraising by donating £500,
is hoping to raise as much money as possible for the charity. |

Mandy said: “CHAS is a
fantastic charity that provides respite care, terminal care and
bereavement support to families who have a child or children who
will sadly die before they reach adulthood. After visiting
Rachel House in Kinross and seeing the facilities on offer to
families, it really made me want to do something to help raise
as much money as possible.
“We are planning to stop in various towns along the way with
collection cans, so if you have time, please come and see us and
dig deep to support this extremely worthy charity”.
Fundraising
Manager, Barbara Osborne said “CHAS supports children and
families throughout Scotland so it is very appropriate that this
charity run will see the team travelling across the country. Our
families often tell us how isolated they felt before getting the
support of our hospice services based at Rachel House in
Kinross, Robin House at Balloch and the CHAS at Home service in
Inverness. CHAS is a friend to these families providing care,
comfort and support to them for as long as they need us; and
this is only possible through the generosity of the public to
help meet the annual running costs, which this year, are in
excess of £5 million.”
The challenge will
take place over the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th of July. If you wish
to make a donation and keep up to date with how the journey is
progressing visit http://www.justgiving.com/mandygunn.
