Lights, Camera, Action

Perth based company Sidey Ltd recently called upon the services of Students from Perth College to help them produce a high-tech demonstration video for a new and exciting product.

David Gillan, a lecturer of Creative Industries Television Production at Perth College, was in charge of the shoot and commented: “While working on this project the students covered a wide range of skills to create this production, from camera, lighting and sound to editing and working with clients. Most of all they gained real world experience which is valuable to their training and careers -Sidey created a great opportunity for the students.”

Ryan Dewar was one of the students involved in the production of the video and said: “During our venture I furthered my team working skills as well as camera operating experience on top of this. Also the opportunity to work on location with external clients expanding my networking base and my experience out on the job.”

The video is set to be used as a promotional tool by Sidey for a new revolutionary product that has been exclusively developed by the company.

Sidey’s Chairman Michael Dobson commented: “The students from Perth College have made an excellent job of the video and have given us exactly what we were looking for. We are delighted that we may have contributed to the development of their skills and that we were able to source some local expertise.”
