First Strip
for CLP Football Team
Ancho Housing Association’s
CLP (Community Link Project) football team were today kitted out with
their very first football strips, courtesy of Perth based company Sidey
Ltd.
The team was formed by boys
that attend the CLP Friday night drop in club, which was created after
the group obtained funding from BBC Children in Need last year. |

Robin Ballantyne, Project
Coordinator of CLP said: “Predominately the drop in was set up to
provide a safe and relaxing place for local young people to meet on a
Friday night and as a diversion from traditional Friday night activities
i.e. under age drinking, anti social behaviour, etc.
“The group is now
well established and everything we provide is driven by the young people
themselves. Things like day trips out during holiday periods to
adventure weekend breaks were all based on requests from this group. So
another request was to form a football team. While slightly daunting for
the youth workers and staff to plan how to go about it, we are so
impressed by the boys enthusiasm and desire to play teams in other areas
of Ayrshire.
“We have many talented
players who take it very seriously, so to have Sidey donate a full set
of strips means the boys can now embrace and take ownership of the CLP
team even more. The team is delighted and they look so professional in
their kits.” |
