Resident Information

Sidey was established in 1932 and has more than 90 years of experience and expertise working in people’s homes. We understand that as a tenant you may want more information about us and the work we do. Rest assured, we have an excellent track record and we have been installing windows and doors for Local Authorities and Housing Associations for more than 20 years.

You can find details about all our products on our product pages within this website.

Below you’ll find more information about how Sidey will install your windows and doors.

Installing your windows and doors

The style of windows and doors may have already been chosen by your local authority or housing association. Details of the products and the process will be available for you before we start any work and we will require access into your property initially to perform the technical survey if one is required. Sidey works in partnership with local authorities and housing association to share details of the process with you so you will know what to expect, when to expect it and safe in the knowledge our teams can easily be identified as Sidey.

Sometimes tenants or residents are involved in the choice process which Sidey and your landlord will assist you with.

We will make sure you have all the information you need about the different options.

Our specialised teams understand they are working in your home, and we care about your surroundings and ensure your furniture and flooring are covered before work commences. We minimise the amount of time we need to be in your home and give you as much notice as possible of any work that will be carried out.

When Sidey is working in your area you will know who we are. Identification badges are always carried, and teams wear Sidey uniforms and drive Sidey branded vehicles.

We are here to make sure the work carried out in your home is carried out to the highest standard. You will be able to contact our teams throughout the work and know how the work will be carried out.

Working in your community

Often when we work on large refurbishment projects, the installations are planned over months, and sometimes years.

Sidey always tries to employ local people in the areas we are working in, where possible, if any additional positions need to be created. We often get involved in community projects, and over the years we have assisted with many good causes supported various charities and volunteer groups.
