Recycling at Sidey

Posted: October 21, 2019

Recycling is an important part of Sidey’s commitment to the environment, and that’s why we are now offering homeowners the chance to recycle their windows and doors.

Our Recycling Scheme, like a vehicle scrappage scheme, means customers will get money back for every window we replace. Depending on the frame size for each window and door, we offer between £100 and £200 per unit, and this is taken off the cost of the replacement windows and doors.

The savings you could make include:

• Between £100 and £200 off for each window replaced, dependent on size. We will be able to give accurate amounts after being assessed by our retail sales consultants

• Up to £300 off French or patio doors, dependent on size

• Up to £350 back when recycling your old conservatory roof for a new one

It’s easy to claim, call us now on 01738 634 803 or fill out our online enquiry form. We will arrange for a member of our team of retail sales consultants to measure up. From this they will give you a quote for your new replacement windows, doors or conservatory and calculate the money you’ll save.

Because of the technical advances in the energy performance of both windows, doors and glass, you are also likely to make savings on your heating bills. You’ll find fewer cold spots and draughts, and that means your rooms will maintain a more consistent temperature.

The products we manufacture have impressively low U-values. Expressed as W/m²K, this is the way that the energy efficiency of windows, doors and conservatory roofs is measured – the lower the U-value the more efficient they are and the more money you will save on your bills.

Save the planet

Every little helps when it comes to the environment. We make sure that all old windows and doors go into our recycling process, and that the extra savings on fuel bills from installing windows and doors with better energy performance, reduce the amount of waste all round.

All of this means that when you buy your new windows, doors or conservatory roof from Sidey, you can be confident that you have chosen a company with a passion for sustainability. You can have peace of mind that your Sidey products have been manufactured with the utmost focus on reducing waste and recycling, in turn doing your bit for the environment.

Not only will your new energy efficient windows, doors or conservatory help to reduce your carbon footprint and save on your energy bills, but they will look ultra-stylish too. And thanks to the Sidey Recycling Scheme, you will be rewarded for trading in your old, inefficient ones in the process.

Sidey’s environmental credentials

At Sidey, this commitment to the environment is not new to us. For the last 11 years we’ve been focused on our environmental credentials.

In 2008, Sidey first focussed on its commitment to the environment, headed up by Robert Fitzpatrick, our Business Group Accreditations – HSQE – Manager. Sidey has exceeded its goals through operating lean manufacturing processes where waste is seen as bad and non-productive. Through Sidey, Robert is a further champion for the environment as a Circular Ambassador for the Tayside Project.

We take our responsibility to the environment very seriously. We were the first company in the UK in the glazing sector to get ISO 45001:2015. This is the highest standard for the environment there is.

Over the last 11 years, we have been working alongside our suppliers, and we have 99.4% recycling from the factory, and Zero landfill. When we bring back old windows from installations, we separate all the materials, and recycle everything we can – which is an impressive 99.3%. Our work behind the scenes was recognised in 2018 when we were shortlisted in VIBES, Scottish Environmental Awards.
