Sidey Awarded Window Energy Rating Kitemark

Posted: January 26, 2011

Sidey are pleased to announce that they have been awarded the Window Energy Rating Kitemark for their full range of Solartherm Windows.
The Kitemark scheme for Window Energy Ratings (WER) is based on the approved document L1B of the Building Regulations which came into force on 1st October 2010.

This stipulates that all replacement windows must have a WER of at least band C or a declared U-value of 1.6W/m2k. Sidey can manufacture windows to a u-value of 0.7.

According to BSI, only businesses that can demonstrate a commitment to delivering professional standards are awarded the Kitemark License. It communicates a message of quality to both existing and potential customers.

Michael Dobson, Sidey’s Chairman commented – “We are delighted to have been awarded the BSI Kitemark for Energy Efficient Windows for our Solartherm range. It demonstrates our commitment to providing quality, energy efficient products that can assist our customers in achieving these new standards. It also provides reassurance to customers that our manufacturing processes are of the highest quality.

“We have been developing our range of energy efficient products for sometime and we are pleased to say that we can now offer customers a u-value of 0.7 from our SolarthermPlus range.”
