Sidey in the Community
Sidey takes Corporate Social Responsibility and assisting in the Communities we work in very seriously. We have in place a ‘Corporate Social Responsibility Policy’ which assists us in our efforts as a socially and environmentally responsible business.
We work with local authorities and housing associations, as well as working alongside tenants and residents and tenant & resident groups, sharing information on the works that are being carried out in their location.
In the areas we work, Sidey always looks at investment in local community-based projects. We sponsor local sports teams, youth groups, charities and support educational workshops.
We support a range of local sports teams and charities in Scotland including our home town of Perth & Kinross and supplied windows and doors free of charge to Play Alloa, Clackmannanshire’s local disability charity, providing play and social opportunities for children and adults with disabilities and additional support needs.
Sidey also assisted the ‘Y Sort It’ team to fund Knowes Housing Association’s Faifley’s Street Play project, which allowed children to play indoors at Skypoint over the winter.
Sidey cares about recycling. We recycle 100% of the waste from our manufacturing processes and close to 100% onsite. That’s one reason why we are partnering with the Social Enterprise LAMH that supplies surplus IT equipment and office furniture to refurbish, reuse & recycle. LAMH in turn sells IT equipment in their shop, allowing disadvantaged families the opportunity to purchase computers and other products at an affordable price, assisting in their education and employment opportunities. Any office furniture that’s given to LAMH is either sold or donated to the British Heart Foundation in North Lanarkshire.
As well as donating old IT equipment, we are supporting the charity with a regular monthly payment. Go to https://www.lamhrecycle.co.uk/ for more information on this exceptional scheme.
Creating local employment
Sidey know it’s important to employ people from local areas where possible, creating apprenticeships and training and, as the strongest fenestration company in Scotland, we work all over the country, supporting projects that make people’s lives better.
If you know of any projects in your area that is underfunded or needs help please let us know. Email firstname.lastname@example.org – we always try to assist as much as possible with the budgets we have.
